It's time for a Blog Hop party!

I'll be giving away a fantastic book, Storm At Sea Quilts by Wendy Mathson. This book includes a pattern to make your own Storm At Sea block with different design ideas. 

 Unfortunately, I will not be shipping internationally this time. This giveaway will start Friday March 8 until Friday March 15 at 11:59 PM (US-EST).  On Saturday, March 16th I will use the Random Number Generator to choose a winner and announce the winner.

 I live in South Florida and our winters are never really cold.  However, to get rid of my "Winter Blues", I love to snuggle on the couch drinking hot chocolate while working on hand appliqué.

  8. Wow, I love Storm at Sea patterns. One thing that chases away my winter blues is playing with fabric. I always love designing a new project and it completely takes me away.

  12. I don't normally have trouble with the winter blues But this year we've had a very strange winter here in Texas. It's been very gloomy and cold. But come the end of this month I'll have it solved as we're moving to your neck of the woods...the Jensen Beach/Port St. Lucie area to be exact! I absolutely cannot wait to get there!

    I also live in FL. The way I chase away the winter blues is to go out side and work in the garden or take a brisk walk. Works every time. Betty Ann

  14. I love the winter months because the worse the weather the more guilt-free quilting time there is! That's my story and I'm sticking with it, lol! Love storm at sea quilts and I really want to make one some day, so that book would be a wonderful addition here. Thanks for the giveaway!

  29. Hi Dara: Greetings from a fellow appliquer. My favorite winter blues kicker is to get my circle of friends around me each week to sew applique and other hand stitching. We bring our lunches and hunker down for a few hours. It's definitely a mood lifter! Thanks for letting us come by. Please come over to Prairie Cottage Corner and visit when you have a minute.

  36. I eat comfort foods that are too heavy for summer months - shepherd's pie, potato soup, etc. They leave me warmed up and feeling satisfied. Thanks for the opportunity to win this book!

  41. to get rid of my winter blues, I start a new project, it could be quilting or knitting or some other stitching, but a new project always helps, specially if I get to purchase new supplies.

  48. I, too, live Florida...North Florida. And I get those winter blues cause it can get pretty chilly here....I've seen my bird bath frozen solid! I listen to Jimmy Buffett music to beat the "Blues" while sewing!

  50. I live in central Florida and our winters include freezing temperatures which kill all my plants. This year we were spared and only had 2 freezes so my plants are now starting to return. The time change gives me the blues because I'd rather have more sunlight. So I stitch a lot in the wintert.Thank you for the chance to win this lovely prize and taking part in the hop.

  51. I live in Oregon and it RAINS in the winter. It does also rain during the other seasons. . . I love to go fabric shopping or blog brousing to get ideas for warm and colorful creations. I'd really like to make a storm at sea quilt. Thanks for a chance to win the give away

  56. Good morning from South Carolina. I drink lots of hot peppermint tea while reading beautiful quilting magazines in my sewing studio. I also surround myself with lots of fabric to help make winter more bearable

  72. Love the book and the "Storm at Sea" pattern in any form!
    So, in Florida cold= about 60 degrees, right?
    Here it's -2 or -3 when we really feel cold!
    Winter Blues are good for going through the sewing room and recovering lost thing, found projects, found fabrics, found ideas. Happy Quilting.
